Senate Bill 132: Raising the Compulsory School Attendance Age

Authors:
Senators Fort of the 39th, Jackson of the 2nd, Tate of the 38th and Sims of the 12th

Summary:
This bill would raise the compulsory school attendance age from 16 to 17. HSLDA opposes any such expansion of state control over education.

Status:
2/11/2009 (Senate) Read and Referred to the Senate Committee on Education and Youth

HSLDA’s Position:
This bill should be opposed.
