Action Requested:
None.
Background:
If enacted, Senate Bill 162 would require all parents who choose to homeschool their children to comply with statutory notification procedures, regardless of whether they have previously been enrolled in the public school.
If this amendment is adopted by the Senate, the bill will only require parents withdrawing their children from public school to notify the local public school district of their intent to have them educated in accordance with Connecticut law.
