House Bill 6977: An Act Mandating the HPV Vaccination

Author:
Representatives Mary Mushinsky, Mary Fritz, Bill Finch, Peter Villano, Thomas Kehoe Edith Prague, Sandy Nafis, Demetrios Giannaros, Gary LeBeau, and DebraLee Hovey.

Summary:
This bill would require a child in a public or nonpublic school to receive the human papilloma virus vaccine prior to entering the sixth grade. HSLDA believes that decisions about whether to receive such a vaccine should be made by parents after consulting with medical professionals, not the state.
