Senate Bill 1056: Would Enable Home Visits by School Officials

Summary:
This bill would authorize public school officials to conduct home visits of families whose children have been absent from public school without excuse. If enacted this law could be used to harass families who desire to withdraw their children from public school in order to homeschool them.

Status:
This bill was introduced and referred to the Joint Committee on Judiciary on March 5, 2003

HSLDA's Position:
This bill should be opposed.
