House Bill 1989: Eliminating Involvement of Local School Districts in Homeschools
Rep. Mark Martin
This bill would eliminate local school district involvement in homeschools. Parents would file their notice of intent with the Arkansas Department of Education. Parents could freely start homeschooling after the start of a semester by filing the notice of intent within five days of withdrawing the child from another school. The information contained in the notice of intent would be simplified. Other changes would be made in the testing procedures.
