House Bill 447: An Act Regarding Social Services Investigations
Author:
Representative H. Mac Gipson Jr.
Summary:
This bill would have authorized social services to fingerprint parents and children who are the subject of a child abuse or neglect investigation and to conduct a criminal history background check on them. This would be an unnecessary and unreasonable invasion of a family's privacy. It would have treated family members, including children, as criminals even before they're arrested for any violation of the law.
