House Bill 52: A Bill Regarding Driver’s Education Requirements

Summary:
This is a driver’s license bill which would require a person under 18 to have graduated from high school or be enrolled in school or an educational program in order to get a driver’s license. It is uncertain whether students in a home education program would have qualified for a license.

HSLDA opposes this bill. It should be amended to clarify that students in a home education program qualify to get a driver’s license.

1/16/2007 First reading and introduced to the State Affairs, Finance, and Judiciary Committees
4/13/2008 Bill died when the regulation Legislative Session ended

HSLDA opposed this legislation as introduced.
