House Joint Resolution 32: Alaska Constitutional Marriage Amendment

Representatives Coghill and Lynn

Summary:
Alaska’s Constitution currently defines marriage as between a man and a woman. This resolution would have amended the Constitution to state that a marriage between a man and a woman is the only union recognized by the state. HSLDA supported this legislation.

Status:
2/10/2006 Introduced, first reading, and referred to the Judiciary Committee.
3/31/2006 Hearing in the Judiciary Committee: Heard & Held
6/8/2006 Bill died when the Legislature adjourned.

Action Requested:
None at this time.

HSLDA supported this legislation.
